การแช่งขัน World Wushu Championships หรือ 世界武术锦标赛 ในภาษาจีน จัดขึ้นทุก 2 ปี โดย สมาพันธ์วูซู นานาชาติ หรือ International Wushu Federation (IWUF).

การแช่งขัน World Wushu Championships ครั้งที่ 9 จัดขึ้น ณ กรุงปักกิ่ง สาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน ส่วนในครั้งหน้่า (ครั้งที่ 10) จะจัดขึ้น ณ เมืองโตรอนโต้ ปรเทศแคนนาดา

The 9th World Wushu Championships opened in Beijing on Sunday at Beijing Olympics Sports Center with a record entry of nearly 1,000 athletes from 89 countries and regions.

การแช่งขัน World Wushu Championships ครั้งที่ 9 ณ ปักกิ่ง โอลิมปิค สปอร์ตเซ็นเตอร์, กรุงปักกิ่ง สาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน มีนีกกีฬาวูซู เกือบ 1,000 คน จาก 89 ประเทศทั่วโลก

Liu Peng, president of Chinese Olympic Committee, declared open the 6-day tournament. Then, the magnificent Taijiquan (shadowboxing) performance acted by one thousand Chinese masters illuminated the spectacular opening ceremony with the theme "Wushu belongs to the world".

นายลู่ เป็ง ประธานโอลิมปิคจีน กล่าวเปิด พิธีเปิดการแข่งขัน พร้อมด้วยการแสดงอันตระการตาจากนักแสดงกว่า 1,000คน ใน theme ที่ชื่อว่า "Wushu belongs to the world"

 

Li Lianjie (Jet Li), the well-known Hollywood Kung Fu star presented as the special guest and delivered a speech to the audiences, "I feel delighted that the Wushu Championship returns to our hometown and I hope in the rest of my lifetime I can spread the spirit of Wushu which includes humanity, peace, harmony and wisdom to every corner of the world."

หลี เหลียนเจี๋ย หรือ เจ็ตลี นักแสดงฮอลีวูดชื่อดัง ได้มาร่วมงานเป็นแขกรับเชิญในพิธีเปิดการแข่งขันนี้ด้วย และได้กล่าวในพิธีเปิดว่า "ผมรู้สึกยินดีที่ การแข่นขัน Wushu Championship กลับมาแข่งขันที่จีนอีกครั้ง และหวังว่าจะใช้ชีวิตที่เหลืออยู่นำศิลปะวูซูเผยแพร่ไปทั่วโลก"

Wushu, which derives from a wide variety of ancient Chinese martial arts, is composed of two disciplines: taolu (routines) and sanshou (fight).

วูซู เป็นศิลปะการต่อสู้ที่มาจาก ศิลปะการต่อสู้ของจีนโบราณ แบ่งเป็น 2 ประเภท คือ เต้าลู่(ยุทธลีลา) และ ซันชู่ (ต่อสู้)

In the 9th world championship, taolu covers 22 categories in which Taijiquan (shadow boxing) and Taijijian will adopt incidental music during the competitions for the first time. While sanshou comprises 18 categories which divided into men's 11 classes and women's 7 classes.

ในการแข่นขัน World Wushu Championship ครั้งที่ 9 นี้ การแข่งขันเต้าลู่แบ่งออกเป็น 22 ยุทธลีลา ในประเภท Taijiquan และ Taijijian ส่วนการแข่งขันซันชู่แบ่งเป็น 18 ปรเภท ชาย 11 และหญิง 7
